This Privacy Policy explains how Sri Kumar Naganathan Gurukkal (“the Gurukkal”, “we”, “us”) handles information you share through saivapriest.com (“this website”). We respect your privacy and collect only what we need to respond to you and perform the ceremonies you request.

Information we collect

We collect information only when you choose to give it to us:

• The request wizard on this website processes only non-sensitive choices — your occasion, the poojas you are considering, location type, city, how ready your date is, and an optional box in which you can describe the occasion in your own words. These stay in your browser for the current visit; they are used to open the right booking page and are attached to your Cal.com request as a short summary, so Gurukkal can see what you asked for without you retyping it. Please keep that free-text box to what you would say on the phone. We do not collect your name, contact details, birth details, gothra, rashi or nakshatra through this website.
• Cal.com (our scheduling provider): when you choose a provisional time, you enter your name, email, phone and booking answers directly into Cal.com. Cal.com stores that booking information and its history on our behalf; please see Cal.com’s own privacy policy. Any family or religious details you share are optional and go into Cal.com, never into this website’s storage.
• When you call, text, WhatsApp or email us: your phone number or email address and the contents of your message.

We do not ask for or need financial or payment information through this website.

How we use your information

We use the information solely to:

• respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
• discuss, schedule and perform the ceremony you request;
• suggest an auspicious muhurtham and the materials (samagri) needed.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing or promotional emails.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website stores nothing on your device unless you choose to allow it. When you first visit you are asked once. If you say no — or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, in which case we do not even ask — the only thing kept is a note that you said no. Everything on the site works identically either way.

If you do agree, we may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages help families, and Microsoft Clarity to watch anonymised recordings of how pages are used so layout problems can be found. Advertising features, cross-device signals and ad personalisation are switched off in Google Analytics, IP addresses are truncated, and Clarity never runs on the request form or the preparation page. There is no advertising, no remarketing, no social tracking pixel and no profile of you anywhere on this site.

Two things happen regardless, because a page cannot load without them: the typefaces come from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as a normal part of sending a file and sets no cookies, and the web host keeps ordinary server logs. Up to six font families are requested, depending on the page: Cormorant Garamond, Marcellus, Marcellus SC and Spectral are used throughout, and Noto Serif Devanagari and Noto Sans Tamil are requested only on pages that display Devanagari or Tamil script. Cal.com loads only on the final step of the request form.

SaivaPriest.com is directed to families in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. It is not aimed at or marketed to people in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada or India.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only where strictly necessary to arrange your ceremony — with Cal.com (scheduling, booking records and booking notifications), with Google Calendar (for confirmed appointments), with any messaging provider Cal.com uses to send you email, SMS or WhatsApp updates when configured, or where required by law. We do not use any third-party email-relay service to handle your booking.

Returning families

SaivaPriest.com does not maintain a family login or a reusable online profile, and does not save your name or contact details in your browser. Returning families use the same email or phone with Cal.com; Gurukkal can then locate your earlier Cal.com booking. Correction or deletion of information held in Cal.com is subject to Cal.com’s capabilities — contact us and we will help.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed to respond to you and provide the ceremony you requested, after which it is deleted or retained only as required for our records or by law.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you have shared with us. To do so, contact us using the details below.

• California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
• EU/UK residents (GDPR): our lawful basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to your request; you may withdraw consent or object at any time.

Children’s privacy

Many ceremonies involve children and are arranged by their parents or guardians. This website is intended for adults arranging ceremonies; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Security

This website is served securely over HTTPS and is a static site with no backend, no login and no database of its own. It does not store your name, contact details or sensitive family information in your browser (no cookies, local storage or session storage of such data). Sensitive details live only in Cal.com, entered by you. There are no stored payment details. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Links to other websites

This site may link to third-party services (for example WhatsApp or a scheduling tool). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
