Ceremonies

The rites families ask for most.

Meet Gurukkal

A priest, not a service.

Sri Kumar Naganathan Gurukkal trained at Sri Karpaga Vinayaka Vedāgama Vidhyalayam in Pillayarpatti, Tamil Nadu, and has served Hindu families since 1990 — in India, in Singapore, and in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2024.

He is a Sivachariyar of the Tamil Śaiva Āgamic tradition and a Krishna Yajurvedi. Ceremonies are performed in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English, with the mantras in Sanskrit, and he will explain what is happening and why as the rite goes on — which is often what a family away from home most wants.

“He performed our Gṛha Praveśam with such sincerity, and explained every step so our children understood what was happening. It was a memorable day.”
